The Rossall Point Marine Observatory, Fleetwood Lancashire. An award winning new public building by Studio Three Architects, Landscape Design by BCA Landscape, Liverpool, Structural Engineering by Booth King Partnership Ltd. Working within the project design team I designed ‘Drift,’ a large-scale site-specific artwork which is sited on the three storey internal west wall. The artwork is a response to long-term observation of this unique and highly dynamic SSSI marine environment. In partnership with Wyre Countryside Wardens, a ‘Sea Change’ funded project for Wyre Borough Council.

‘Drift’ is made of 16 individual pieces, stonework developed in collaboration with sculptor Adrian Wright. The piece includes cast bronze, carved oak and kiln formed glass. Each element reflecting an aspect of the dynamic coastline.
